Q. How do I activate the Calendar Sync on BlackBerry?/I don't see the Calendar sync option.
Q. Why are my itineraries not in the BlackBerry calendar?
A. Your itineraries will be available in the "My Itineraries" tab inside the WorldMate application. The built-in BlackBerry calendar cannot provide all the services WorldMate does; therefore, WorldMate should be used as your calendar while traveling.
Q. The Flight Status service data is wrong (e.g., delayed flights show as "on time").
A. We are always improving our products and appreciate your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience. Flight information is supplied by a content provider ranked #1 in their field (global coverage). However, we realize that there is always room for improvement and we are constantly working bringing you better services.
If you encounter wrong information, please email Customer Support with the exact date, time and flight number, the status displayed in WorldMate, and the status displayed at the Airport Gate.
Q. I saw messages during set-up that I dismissed. Will WorldMate still work?
Here are the messages displayed during the initial set-up of WorldMate:
- You are prompted to choose your current location.
- You are prompted to enter the same user name and password that you used on the WorldMate Web page.
- In order for WorldMate to correctly perform update actions, it's recommended that in the following windows you select the options: "'all http/s connections" and "Allow this connection."
If you chose "don't allow connection" then you must:
- Go to Settings->Options->Advanced Options->Applications on your device.
- Scroll down the list of applications until you find WorldMate.
- Highlight WorldMate and press "Menu" button on your device.
- Select "Edit Permissions" from the Menu and make sure that all three options ("Connections," "Interactions" and "User Data") are set to "Allow."
- Launch WorldMate.
Q. My BlackBerry isn't reflecting my Gold membership. But if I click "Upgrade" it tells me I already own a Gold membership.
A. To have your Gold membership properly extended to your BlackBerry device, please try to initiate a manual sync. On your device, select the "My Itinerary" service screen on WorldMate; then choose "Synchronize trips" from the menu.
Q. My BlackBerry log-in fails. The error message reads: "Connection failed (Permission denied)."?
A. You can add scheduled flights with ease. Simply entering the airline, flight number and date, then click "Get Flight Details." If the flight is found, the details will be provided automatically and you only need to click "OK." If the flight information is not recognized, you can manually enter the details. Note: If your flight is with a major airline and flight details are not automatically shown, please recheck the information you entered. It is unlikely that a scheduled flight on a major airline would not be found if the information was entered correctly.
If this fails, remove WorldMate from your device; then download and install over the air from: http://get.wmlive.com/
Q. I am getting a "Connection Failed" message. (e.g, Connection Failed: Failed to transmit; Connection Failed: Invalid url parameter; Connection Failed: Could not find a service book entry for IPPP; Connection Failed: could not open tunnel - failed)
A. To solve the connection problem, please try the following steps:
- On your device, go to Settings->Options->Advanced Options->Applications
- Scroll down the list of applications until you find WorldMate.
- Highlight WorldMate and press the "Menu" button on your device.
- Select "Edit Permissions" from the Menu and make sure that all three options ("Connections", "Interactions" and "User Data") are set to "Allow."
- Launch WorldMate.
Q. There are no weather updates. The error message reads: "connection failed invalid distance to far back."
A. Please verify that your device is set to the current date and verify that the date is current in WorldMate. If it set to another date, please adjust it.
Q. 1) I downloaded and installed the new version of WorldMate on my BlackBerry, but the WorldMate icon does not appear/show on my device. 2) I downloaded and installed the new version of WorldMate on my BlackBerry. When I launched WorldMate, I get an error message saying a module is missing: "module com_mobimate_wmli - not found." 3) I downloaded and installed the new version of WorldMate on my BlackBerry, but the version number didn't change; the old version number remains.
In order to solve these types of issues, please follow these steps:
- Uninstall WorldMate from your BlackBerry. Even if you do not see the WorldMate icon, you will probably see it in your BlackBerry's applications list.
- Soft reset your BlackBerry. (In order to do so you have to remove and reinsert the device battery.)
- Reinstall WorldMate; point your BlackBerry browser to http://get.wmlive.com and select Mirror 1 as first choice. Alternatively, select Mirror 2.
Q. I am trying to download the new version of WorldMate to my BlackBerry. The download fails and I get an error message saying: error code number 907, e.g., "907 Invalid COD Local connection timed."
A. Point your BlackBerry browser to http://get.wmlive.com and select Mirror 1 as the first choice. Alternatively, select Mirror 2.
Q. I want an airport that is not included in WorldMate Flight Schedules.
A. The predefined list of airports available for selection by country, city, and airport name is limited in size. Therefore many airports which are covered by our Flight Schedules service are not included in the predefined list.
The Flight Schedules database contains around 18,000 unique airport codes. Please try using the three-letter airport code in the Flight Schedules service in order to locate flights to/from this airport.
Q. How do I activate the Calendar Sync on BlackBerry?/I don't see the Calendar sync option.?
A. WorldMate is designed to automatically detect when you have a calendar item that matches any of your itinerary dates. (For example, for an itinerary dated Nov-10-2008 to Nov-20-2008, only calendar items from that date range will be synched).
You will see a pop-up screen which will enable you to set up the calendar sync feature, step-by-step. After the initial set-up you will be able to change the calendar sync settings via the WorldMate settings menu.
