This privacy policy describes the guidelines by which MobiMate Ltd. and WorldMate© Inc. protect customer information obtained on our Web site and mobile applications.
Last Update: July 19th 2010
What information do we collect from you and why? WorldMate collects personal information for the following reasons:
Should you chose to purchase WorldMate "Gold", "Professional" or other premium services, we collect financial information such as your credit card account number, expiration date and 3-digit security code.
For all website visitors-registered and non-registered users alike-we use cookies to track session information: IP address, browser type, time spent on site, referring URL and exit website URL. We do not disclose, sell or rent your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. TRUSTe Certification WorldMate has been awarded TRUSTe's Privacy Seal signifying that this privacy policy and practices have been reviewed by TRUSTe for compliance with TRUSTe's program requirements including transparency, accountability and choice regarding the collection and use of your personal information. TRUSTe's mission, as an independent third party, is to accelerate online trust among consumers and organizations globally through its leading privacy trustmark and innovative trust solutions. If you have questions or complaints regarding our privacy policy or practices, please contact us at privacy@worldmate.com . If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact TRUSTe here How do we secure information? The security of your personal information is important to us. WorldMate will take reasonable precautions to ensure that your personal information is protected against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our Web site, you can contact us at security@worldmate.com. What do we do with information we collect from you with regards to bookings you make through WorldMate (website and / or mobile applications)? When you book travel services through our site or through our mobile applications, we provide information to those travel service providers who facilitate the booking and / or deliver the service, for example hotels.com, airlines, car rental, hotels, ground transportation, theater, attraction or travel insurance company. We provide them with the Personal Information needed to make and complete the booking or reservation, and to provide you with the service. What information is collected with regards to my location and how is it used? Your location is obtained from the mobile device or the network, or directly from you, and is used to search for information you may need - including local searches for hotels, restaurants, shopping, weather and so forth. When we execute such searches on your behalf we do not transfer your identity or personally identifiable information to third parties. Your home location, as entered by you, and your last known location are synchronized with your account on our server, as are future locations as derived from your itineraries. These locations are not disclosed to third parties, unless you decide to publish them using our LinkedIn functionality as described below. You can decide whether or not you want to use the LinkedIn functionality. Furthermore even if you are using it you can mark any or all trips as "Private" in which case the location information for those will not be shared through LinkedIn. The basic information regarding your current and home locations are basic requirements for using WorldMate, so if you do not want to share those, you will need to close your account. What do we do with your LinkedIn Information? For those users who wish to share their itinerary information with their LinkedIn network, we collect the email and password you use as LinkedIn login credentials. We display, but do not collect, information of your LinkedIn Connections in order for you to invite them to join the WorldMate service and to search for your Connections based on their location. The flight, car rental, hotel, transportation and meeting details of your itinerary will not be made public, however, your LinkedIn Connections and anyone else visiting your LinkedIn profile page will see the destination and dates of your current or future trips within WorldMate. Furthermore, periodic updates such as trip creation and landing at a destination will be communicated on your LinkedIn profile page in near real time if you chose to enable automatic publishing of this information. You can always decide to make a trip Private - in which case information about it will not be shared, or make all trips private by selecting that option in the website under My Profile - My Profile Settings. To disconnect your LinkedIn account from WorldMate altogether you can change your password on LinkedIn. This will stop us from having any access to your LinkedIn information and vice versa. Social Widgets Our website includes Widgets, which are interactive features that run on our site to provide specific services from another company (e.g. enabling you to connect with us on social network sites, or sharing with your friends, etc). Personal information, such as your email address, may be collected through the Widget. Cookies may also be set by the Widget to enable it to function properly. Information collected by this Widget is governed by the privacy policy of the company that created it. At this time such widgets are limited to LinkedIn.com. What information is captured using TripCatchTM and how is it used? TripCatchTM automates itinerary creation by automatically locating emails on your mobile device that we suspect are travel confirmation emails and transferring them to our server for processing. We will never transfer emails automatically without your permission. You may decide to allow this capability for a single email or for all emails by selecting "Yes, Always" when prompted to allow such transfer. You can always stop the automatic transfers by going into the Settings menu for WorldMate on your phone and turning TripCatchTM off. After we process the email we immediately delete it off our server, so except for travel information that is captured and reflected in your itineraries, no personal information is collected. If you choose to participate in the WorldMate Product Improvement Program, those emails that are transferred automatically but fail to be processed as a travel information email are retained for further analysis, in which case they will be examined within up to 4 weeks and then deleted. You may opt out from WorldMate Product Improvement Program via the settings menu in your WorldMate application. Correcting or updating personal information You have the right to update your personal information, including your primary email address, at any time.
